Bihar CM.Bihar Nitish Kumarhas called a meeting of JD(U) MPs and MLAs at his residence at 10 am on Sunday. As per sources, some JD(U) MLAs have already met the Bihar CM and will be staying in Patna. Those MLAs who haven’t reached the state capital have been asked to reach as soon as possible, they said.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, is about to pull off his second political 180 degree turn in less than two years, according to sources, who predict the JD(U) president would submit his resignation by Sunday morning.
In the meantime, RJD leaders deliberated long and hard about what steps to take in case Kumar decided to withdraw from the alliance and rejoin the NDA.
At their meeting on Saturday in Patna, the leaders of the BJP refrained from formally endorsing the JD(U) chief should he decide to leave the “Mahagathbandhan.” The party’s MLAs and MPs will reconvene on Sunday at nine in the morning, according to the BJP.
JD(U) MPs and MLAs are to meet at Nitish Kumar’s house on Sunday at ten a.m. Some JD(U) MLAs are reportedly staying in Patna and have already met with the chief minister of Bihar. They stated that MLAs who have not yet arrived at the state capital have been urged to do so as soon as possible.
It is anticipated that the BJP MLAs will visit Nitish Kumar’s home and give the chief minister the letter of support. According to other sources, Nitish will be selected as the NDA parliamentarians’ leader following a joint NDA conference.
After receiving the letter of support, the MLAs will assume control of Raj Bhavan, and Nitish will submit his resignation and declare his intention to form a new government with the backing of BJP MLAs. The governor will then be contacted to arrange a time for the oath-taking ceremony, they continued.
According to sources, Nitish Kumar would also fire every minister in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), which is led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, tomorrow. He is probably going to appoint BJP candidates to replace the RJD ministers who were fired.
The crisis in Bihar comes month after Nitish, the longest-serving CM of Bihar,
The situation in Bihar has arisen a month after the country’s longest-serving chief minister, Nitish, launched an initiative to unite all political parties against the BJP, which resulted in the creation of the opposition INDIA bloc.
Additionally, Kumar essentially named Tejashwi Yadav as his successor by declaring that the leader of the RJD would lead the Mahagathbandhan in the upcoming assembly elections, which are set for 2025. This had fueled animosity within the JD(U), leading an influential assistant such as Upendra Kushwaha to resign from the party, don a new clothing, and return to the NDA.
However, when Kumar officially succeeded Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lalan as party president last month, amid rumors of Lalan’s closeness to the RJD camp, hostility between JD(U) and RJD became evident. But Lalan had argued that, given the impending Lok Sabha elections, he wanted to focus on Munger, his Lok Sabha seat, and had resigned the top party office on his own initiative.
Kumar has also expressed his distress over the way the INDIA coalition was going; he was not given the opportunity to be a convenor until last month, at which point he declined it. Though he has remained critical of the “delay” in reaching a decision, Kumar has insisted that he has “no personal ambitions.”
Even though tomorrow is a Sunday, the Bihar secretariat will be open since there will likely be a lot of action, including Nitish Kumar perhaps leaving and then supporting the BJP to become the chief minister of a BJP-JD(U) coalition in Bihar. The action would bolster the BJP and deal a blow to the opposition alliance INDIA, months ahead of the Lok Sabha election.
Until late on Saturday night, there were heated debates in JD(U), which accused the Congress of defaming Nitish Kumar in the BJP, on how to welcome him back to RJD, the biggest party in the Assembly, and how to avoid giving in to any pressure that might arise in Bihar on Sunday.
On Saturday, Mallikarjun Kharge, the head of the Congress, denied knowing that Nitish Kumar and JD(U) were planning to leave the INDIA alliance. “Are they leaving (JD(U))? As of yet, I have not heard anything about it. I’ve tried to communicate with the JD(U) leadership and have written them a letter. I am not really sure what’s going through their brains.
Jairam Ramesh, general secretary of the Congress, stated that Mallikarjjun Kharge attempted to contact Nitish Kumar multiple times but was unsuccessful due to their hectic schedules. Jairam Ramesh stated that when Nitish Kumar called back, Kharge was busy and that he wouldn’t be able to do anything regarding Bihar unless Nitish Kumar and Kharge spoke. He did this without criticizing Nitish Kumar. According to Jairam Ramesh, everything is in control and India
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar look at the BJP meeting:
During a meeting on Saturday, the RJD gave Lalu Prasad Yadav permission to make any decisions depending on how Bihar’s politics develop. It has been instructed for all RJD MLAs to remain in Patna and maintain communication with the leadership.
In the event that Nitish Kumar teams up with the BJP, RJD wants to put him to a floor test. Tejashwi suggested to the party workers during the meeting that an unforeseen occurrence might occur. Tejashwi addressed the MLAs of his party, saying, “Bihar mein abhi khel hona baki hain.”
n New Delhi, Chirag Paswan met with Amit Shah and ‘raised his concerns regarding Bihar’. Understanding the current state of affairs in Bihar was crucial. I met with JP Nadda ji and Amit Shah today to discuss this matter.
I have voiced my worries to them regarding Bihar. They have provided assurance on a number of things. In terms of the alliance, everything is going really well. The situation will become clearer in the next few days, and our party will then make a decision. We now belong to the NDA,” he declared.
Regarding Nitish Kumar, he said that his party won’t speak up unless Nitish Kumar does.Tejashwi was unimpressed with the idea of RJD leaders laying claim to form the government without JD(U), as Mahagathbandhan will be short of eight MLAs.
