Speaking on the final day of Parliament’s Budget session, he declared that the previous five years had been a time of reform, performance, and transformation, with the nation rapidly approaching “big changes.”

It is true that not everyone is capable of these things, he remarked, taking a jab at the opposition that has been attacking the BJP nonstop over the temple issue. While some people flee the battlefield, others are bold enough to face it. However, the speeches given today had compassion, resolve, and sympathy for the record. Additionally, it perpetuates the maxim “sabka saath, sabka vikas.” “The nation has advanced toward significant changes at a rapid pace, and all members of the House made a significant input. People had been waiting for generations for the completion of such constructions, he said.

He said that although people had dreamed of a single Constitution for generations, it was only made possible by this House’s removal of Article 370, which had granted special rights to the former state of Jammu and Kashmir. He also mentioned that other significant decisions, such as the outlawing of instant triple talaq, were also made.

“Many obstacles were overcome, and the nation was pointed in the right direction. With great satisfaction, we can state that the 17th Lok Sabha completed the task that many generations had been waiting decades for,” Mr. Modi stated.

These last five years have been about performing, reforming, and changing. We seldom act, reform, and see transformation at the same time. The nation would continue to bless the 17th Lok Sabha, he declared.

He highlighted the steps made to empower the transgender population and added that for those living on the periphery of society, the government has been a source of comfort. He also mentioned that a transsexual person received a Padma award.

During this time, India held the G20 presidency, and each state showcased the nation’s might and uniqueness to the outside world, he said.

The prime minister spoke of the new criminal laws that superseded actions from the British era and added, “We can proudly declare that our country could have lived under the “penal code” for 75 years, but now we live under “Nyay Samhita.”

The next Lok Sabha elections are anticipated to take place in April or May, he noted, adding that while this may cause anxiety among some, it is a necessary aspect of democracy. He conveyed his belief that the forthcoming elections will further accentuate the magnificence of Indian democracy.

The Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and the Prime Minister were thanked.

“No matter what happened, you (Birla) always had a smile on your face. I commend you for leading this House in a fair and impartial manner. Mr. Modi complimented Birla, saying, “There were times of anger and accusations, but you handled these situations with patience and ran the house wisely.”

In reference to the Covid epidemic, Mr. Modi stated that the last five years had witnessed the “biggest crisis of the century,” and Birla has taken steps to ensure the dignity of the House while preventing any hindrance to parliamentary business.

Mr. Modi praised lawmakers for forgoing their annual constituency development fund and thirty percent of their income during the pandemic, saying that the nation’s work could not stop. Additionally, he applauded the Speaker for eliminating the MPs’ access to subsidized canteen facilities, as this policy was frequently criticized across the nation.

While the necessity for a new building had previously been discussed, the speaker’s decision during the 17th Lok Sabha turned that talk into reality.

He said that 97% of the 17th Lok Sabha was productive.

As the 17th Lok Sabha draws to a close, Mr. Modi declared, “We resolve that the productivity should ensure 100% in the 18th Lok Sabha.”

He also applauded the Women’s Reservation Bill’s passage and the quick triple talaq law’s implementation.

He applauded the Speaker’s choice to include the Sengol, a sceptre representing antiquated customs, in the yearly event, stating that it will link the next generation to the time when India gained freedom while still a source of inspiration.
